Answer: Two weeks prior to the start of each calendar quarter, full-time regular employees desiring to work overtime during that quarter shall place their names on an “Overtime Desired” list. The completed list shall be posted on the first day of the new quarter.

+ Which Day Is My Designated Holiday?

Answer: If a holiday falls on a Sunday and your rest-days are Saturday and Sunday, your designated holiday would be Monday. If your rest-days are Sunday and Monday, your designated holiday would be Saturday. If your rest-days are Saturday and Friday, your holiday would be Sunday, since Sunday is a regularly scheduled work day.

If the holiday falls on Saturday and your rest-days are Saturday and Sunday, your designated holiday would be Friday. If your rest-days are Saturday and Friday, your designated holiday would be Thursday.

When your scheduled rest-day falls on a day observed as a holiday, your scheduled work day preceding the holiday will be designated as your holiday.

  6. a) Conversion of Postal Support Employees (PSEs) within the same installation; or b) Acceptance and placement of voluntary reassignment (transfer) requests pending in eReassign, subject to the 1in 4 or 1 in 6 rules

+ Do I Need Union Representation During A Pre-Disciplinary Interview?

Answer: A. Yes! You should always have a Shop Steward present during any investigatory interview that you reasonably believe may lead to discipline. It is the employee’s responsibility to ask for union representation and you do not have to answer any questions until such representation is provided.

+ How Long Do I Have To Wait Before I Can Transfer?

Answer: For transfers within the geographical area covered by a district or to the geographical area covered by adjacent Districts, you must have at least eighteen (18) months of service in your present installation prior to requesting a transfer to another installation. With the following exceptions: 1.) to return to the installation where you previously worked; 2.) where you can substantially increase the number of hours (8 or more hours per week), in which case the lock-in period will be twelve (12) months. For all other transfers, you must have at least one (1) year of service at your present installation prior to requesting a transfer to another installation.

+ How Do I Become A Shop Steward?

Answer: Go to our Contact page and leave your name, number and the office where you work. Along with a brief statement on why you want to be a Shop Steward. Once you are accepted and trained you will be certified as a Shop Steward.

+ How Do I Report A Safety Hazard?

Answer: By completing PS Form 1767 (which should be readily available in the workplace) and give it to your immediate supervisor, be sure to retain your copy. Once you notify your supervisor of an unsafe condition, it should be investigated immediately and, where necessary corrective action will be taken. Your supervisor should get back to you by the end of your tour with any and all actions taken to address your concerns of the unsafe condition.
